Current Vacancies

Administrator (Finance)

Permanent, part-time, office-based (Ardington, Oxfordshire)

The Role

This is a part-time position working 9.00am to 3.00pm, five days per week. The role will support the finance function across multiple associations, events and internal projects.

The Person

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with exceptional attention to detail and a conscientious approach to work. Previous experience with financial systems or bookkeeping would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

The successful candidate will be well organised, comfortable multitasking and able to work across multiple projects and customers. You will also work closely with different internal teams, so a collaborative approach is essential.

Minimum Requirements

  • GCSE Mathematics (pass)
  • GCSE English (pass)
  • Proficient in basic Excel
  • Good communication skills, with an understanding of the importance of clear and concise information exchange
  • Confident using email and telephone communication
  • Willing and able to learn new systems and applications
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Ability to work well as part of a team

Key Responsibilities

  • Bank reconciliations to support updates to association and event management systems
  • Managing finance inboxes and responding to finance-related enquiries
  • Credit control
  • Purchase order management and invoice processing
  • Maintaining filing systems
  • Updating member databases
  • Requesting and following up invoices from third-party suppliers and venues
  • Reconciling management systems and event budgets with the financial management system post-event
  • Preparing invoice reports for foreign VAT returns
  • Requesting and tracking receipts, both internally and externally

In addition, during the run-up to major events, the post-holder will be expected to assist with other activities to support event preparation.

  • Full training will be provided on all systems and internal processes.
  • Due to the village location, candidates must have their own transport.
  • Location: Ardington, Wantage
  • Hours: 9.00am to 3.00pm, Monday to Friday
